If you’re attached to your mattress and don’t feel like sleeping on dirt but long for an outdoor oasis inside, the picNYC table by Haiko Cornelissen might be more up your alley. picNYC is essentially an aluminum table frame with space inside that can we used as a planter bed. Cut and welded in the United States, the aluminum used is lightweight so it’s perfect for transient New Yorkers that are always moving from one apartment to another. At $5,950 a pop, the table isn’t cheap, but customers that live in NY get a special bonus with their order – a free grass installation with delivery. Yuka Yoneda of Inhabit suggested herbs might be a particularly clever idea and there are also a wonderful variety of small groundcover plants that would add a bit of color depending on the time of year. Making the kids trim the table everyday would also be a great way of keeping them occupied during the long summer vacation. Full story at Voos Furniture via Inhabit. Living design. | | | | | | | | |
