| | --- Reply above this line to comment on this post --- Phones these days can do just about anything, but when it comes to self-defense, unless you’ve got some really annoying music set to play (note, we’re resisting any Nickelback references), the jack-of-all-trades gadget isn’t going to do much good in a dark parking lot. The SmartGuard iPhone case seeks to remedy this situation, though it’s currently only available in Switzerland, Austria and Germany (where it can only be used as an animal repellant). It has a specially shaped can of Oleoresin Capisum pepper spray built-in. A plastic tab will make sure that it doesn’t misfire, but within this tiny canister is 6 half-second bursts of excruciating spray that has a five foot radius. Needless to say, this is going to stop a mugger in their tracks. In combination with the Piexon AG Emergency app, which lets friends, family and emergency personnel know your exact location, this case offers a whole new level of protection from the one thing you always have on hand.
