Study: IE users average lower IQ than Safari users

There’s no way to put this delicately, so let’s just get our cards on the table. According to a recent AptiQuant survey of over 100,000 people, Internet Explorer users have lower IQs than those who use Safari, Firefox, and Chrome—who in turn have lower IQs than those who use Camino and Opera. Writes the BBC:
AptiQuant stressed that using IE doesn’t mean you have low intelligence. “What it really says is that if you have a low IQ then there are high chances that you use Internet Explorer,” said AptiQuant CEO Leonard Howard.
Needless to say, the survey sparked some controversy. According to the results, IE users have an average IQ in the 80s, which is, according to Professor David Spiegelhalter of Cambridge University’s Statistical Laboratory, “borderline deficient, marginally able to cope with the adult world..and an insult to IE users.”
