Researchers from Texas State University believe they have discovered the kind of hidden treasure kids dream of from the time they can say “Aaarrrgh”: pirate treasure.
The more than four hundred-year-old ship was found off the coast of Panama, and the team believes it’s one of the fleet Captain Henry Morgan took to raid Panama City in the 1600s. While recovering the ship is slow going, they’ve already unearthed sealed chests that Captain Morgan USA – who funded the continuation of the expedition – no doubt hopes contains some marketing gold in the form of vintage libations.
